YOUR STAND-UP IS BASED ON EXPERIENCES YOU'VE HAD. IS YOUR LIFE REALLY THAT HILARIOUS OR DO YOU HAVE TO EMBELLISH TO MAKE IT SOUND GOOD? My standup is usually more along the lines of observations about what I'm going through — such as a bunch of friends having babies, frustrations with dating, etc. Sometimes I tell a "crazy story"-type bit and those are true.
