AS A STREET ARTIST WHO IDENTIFIES AS AN ACTIVIST, YOU DEAL WITH THEMES OF RACE AND CLASS. WHAT DRAWS YOU TO THOSE STRUGGLES AND HOW DO YOU SEE ART AND ACTIVISM IN RELATIONSHIP IN GENERAL? Even though I think a lot of those issues come out while I'm working, the root issue that I'm starting from is always really about survival. How do we live in our cities? How do we produce the food that we're going to eat? How do we interact with our public spaces? Once you start to ask those basic questions about the way that we live, what comes out in the answers is, I think, the interesting part, because then you start to realize all these different things about class, about whose needs are getting met and whose aren't. Also, I think the question which I find really interesting is how art can specifically address needs. . . . There's just so much critical thinking and creative problem solving that goes into the process of art-making, so when you take those moments of taking all that really radical thinking and then bring that to a real-world context, you get the ability to shape things, to shape your world in a real way.
