The MERCE CUNNINGHAM DANCE COMPANY celebrated its demise with a bang in December at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, with six repertory works by the late master of the new. Winding up their planned "Legacy Tour," the marvelous 14-member ensemble gave the last, lamented performances of Roaratorio, Second Hand, Pond Way, RainForest, BIPED, and Split Sides. Merce Cunningham pioneered the new dance beginning in the 1940s and presided over it until his death in 2009.
