A whirlwind year of dance

Boston Ballet continued its commitment to GEORGE BALANCHINE's work with Divertimento No. 15 and Symphony in Three Movements on a Balanchine/Robbins program in May. Divertimento (1956) implies a symmetry befitting Mozart and an 18th-century drawing room, and tweaks the predictability out of the situation. Symphony was the first big work of New York City Ballet's astounding 1972 Stravinsky Festival. It stunned me then, and it still does.
