Community building

By ANNIE LARMON  |  February 10, 2010

Mayo Street Arts may be attracting some of the same artists and performers as other alternative arts spaces, such as the Hog Farm Studios Annex in Biddeford, or the Apohadion, but having an intimate community environment where the working and exhibiting are simultaneous and ongoing is a welcome addition. McGough says, "I like the fact that in Portland there are so many artists and musicians, one more place is adding to the whole, it doesn't take anything away. It adds to what we have going on here."
