Ending violence

The ideal consciousness must be a synthesis of anger and the urge toward joy. The last piece, a full-cast poetry work called "Connect: A Web of Words" maps the scope of violence all the way from "slap" to "full penetration capacity bomb" to "empire" — but then turns it around to put power back in the hands of individual human beings, with a recognition both of the horrors and of our collective strength. The poem arcs from "No" to "Yes."
