How To Grow Pot In Your Dorm Room

By ROY BLUNT JR.  |  September 26, 2011

Now it's time to cross your fingers, and to remember that it is important to avoid being greedy (recommended: watch Scarface). The size of your plant will depend almost entirely on the pot you put it in, and, considering your tight accommodations, it would be asinine to go with anything bigger than eight inches (which would be pushing it, but that's what she said). When it's between about one and two feet tall and ready for the big move, make the transfer carefully.

At the six-week mark, when your tree is getting big and bushy, screw in a 400-watt lightbulb, and change the timer so that it runs for 12 hours on, then 12 hours off. This is to trick the plant into thinking that it's time to flower, which it eventually will, so make sure that your carbon filter is clean and intact. Now replace the grow nutrients with bloom nutrients, and keep the routine going for another six to eight weeks. We told you this was going to take patience.
