TUESDAY MAY 8JUST HIM
When Portland, Oregon troubador M. WARD announced a forthcoming "musical travelogue" (due out April 10) we couldn't help but think of fellow folk singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens's failed 50 States project. Wah wahh. Luckily, Ward's new enterprise is a single album — A Wasteland Companion (Merge) — inspired by his last three years on the road. We're sort of glad Zooey Deschanel's terrible stint on New Girl freed up her She & Him partner for another solo album. It's been a long wait since 2009's Hold Time (Merge). Ward is joined by erstwhile Sonic Youth LEE RANALDO at the House of Blues, 15 Lansdowne St, Boston | 7 pm | $25 | livenation.com.
