Otters are undeniably cute with their constant playfulness. And their use of simple tools reflects an intelligence not found in similar animals, like weasels, stoats, and ferrets. People have responded to animals who do a lot less. Plus, we hear they were big back in the ’70s, so they’ve got the retro-chic thing going for them.

Seahorses 40-1
If part of what attracted people to penguins was their humanlike mating and rituals, perhaps the unusual nature of the seahorse reproduction process can do the same for these equine underwater dwellers. The male seahorse becomes pregnant and lays the eggs. We picture Donald Sutherland narrating the seahorse pop-doc.
