“Naked 2Nite” inspired a Van Halen–sampling sequel called “Private Sweat,” all about lusting after a black-eyed girl in a Def Leppard T-shirt (“My mind makes pornos of you and I”), but not wanting to approach her. That one inspired a follow-up: “Sweating Lesbians Again.” “If you’re sweating a girl that you know wants to have nothing to do with you, that’s even better. There’s no potential for reality.”
For the last year, Foley’s been primarily DJing, mixing retro-dance classics at places like the Milky Way and River Gods. In March, he plans to premiere Paul Foley & Warm Bodies, an electro group with coordinated costumes and back-up dancers that hasn’t practiced yet. But despite his history of lady-centric songs, he swears he’s not looking for just a warm body. “I want to meet a girl in a library or at Taco Bell, I don’t want to meet a girl at a club,” he explains. “If you actually go out and it doesn’t work out and you see her the next week, like, ‘Oh, there she is again. You’re ruining my club.’ I want, like, my clubs to be relationship-free zones.” ^
