Taymor fails to cast a spell

I hate to think that Taymor fell under the siren spell of computer-generated imagery. Maybe if she had stuck to puppets and masks, the flesh and blood beneath them would have been more animated. As it is, without that crucial cup of chocolate, the film never quite gets off the ground.
