Survival of the Dead
Theatrical release date: Who knows? Soon, hopefully. DVD release: Ditto.

Speaking of George Romero, Mr. Zombie has returned to the genre he created. Romero's [Noun] of the Dead films vary in quality, from the really good (Night, Dawn), to the mediocre (Day, Land), to the nearly unwatchable (Diary). That said, this man is responsible for cinema's most complete zombie canon ... not to be confused with a zombie cannon (which I hope to get for my birthday). Will Survival of the Dead be an instant classic, a gory bomb, or something in between? Hard to tell. The film's stalled release isn't a great sign, but it has a four-star rating on Netflix -- for whatever that's worth. With any luck, Ghoulish George will once more bless the world with captivating cannibal corpses in 2010.
