9_BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, "YOUR BETRAYAL" | Metalcore is atrocious garbage, but I can't help rooting for it when I see it alongside Puddle of Mudd. Post-grunge and nü-metal have been ruining mainstream rock for more than a decade, and something — anything — needs to come along and topple them. If it has to be awful shit like Bullet for My Valentine or Avenged Sevenfold, so be it. They suck, but we have to support them. It's like arming the contras.
10_MUDVAYNE, "SCREAM WITH ME" | The chorus is "Stand in the closet and scream with me" — which is about the least enticing proposition I've ever heard. Being in an enclosed space with the Mudvayne dude sounds almost unbearable, but if we're both screaming, too? Yeesh. That sounds even worse than getting "down with the sickness."
