"I don't have some overriding concept," Monder tells me when I reach him at his home in the Kensington section of Brooklyn. "I really don't have anything in particular that I'm trying to do. I just write stuff that I like. I think a person writes because they want to hear something that doesn't already exist, and how can I fill that void?"
