LCD SOUNDSYSTEM [This Tent | Friday, June 11 @ 2:30 a.m.]
The drummer pounded his kick drum so mercilessly during "Movement," he broke it. Mid-"Tribulations," a naked dude brushed past me en route to crashing into the stage barricade and somehow managed to make it all the way to stage right before getting pinned by two security guards. James Murphy repeatedly lambasted the crowd for pelting the band with glow sticks, then stormed off the stage in a huff, leaving us hanging sans encore. In other words: Best Show of the Weekend.

I'm aware that they're not coming to Boston, but I'd advise catching this band at any cost on this supposedly final tour. There's so much more to LCD Soundsystem than just Murphy -- every member strives to match the frontman in stage presence and precision, and the result is an absolute throwdown. In fact, Murphy exudes a comfortable coolness on stage that leaves him appearing the least animated among his bandmates. Would've liked to see more cuts from This Is Happening -- only "Drunk Girls", "Pow Pow," and "I Can Change" showed up on the setlist -- but you know, beggars and choosers and all that.
