WEEZER [Which Stage | Saturday, June 12 @ 7 p.m.]
On the other end of the Berninger/Coyne/Murphy spectrum of lead singers who command audience attention would have to be Rivers Cuomo. What the fuck happened to this guy? He spent a vast majority of his set tossing speakers into the crowd, scaling the scaffolding on the side of the stage, and even rapping Weezy's verse on "Can't Stop Partying." The band is already teetering dangerously close to irrelevancy with the disingenuous turds they've been doling out over the past half decade. Cuomo, you are the same dude who penned "Across the Sea" and "Only In Dreams." You're not a gangster. Play your legitimately classic songs with the passion and reverence they deserve, and it will rock. Because in the immortal words of the night's main stage headliner: "We don't believe you, you need more people."
