Dando and Hatfield rekindle a musical courtship

"Evan has to take some responsibility for that interview, but I hope something good comes out of this," says Hatfield. "I've known a lot of drug abusers in my time, and I have dated them. I guess I'm drawn to those people — they confront their dark side every day, and I prefer that to people who repress it or badmouth it in other people. I have my own problems, but luckily I was never drawn to the drugs. Evan doesn't lie like a lot of users do — he knows he hasn't written in a long time, and he knows he needs to get to a better place. I think he can do it."
