Attleboro punk icons NEUTRAL NATION host another It's a Bash! DVD release party at the Met on FRIDAY (the 5th), wisely recruiting THE DIEPODS and FRENZY OF TONGS to open (401.729.1005). A slightly more mellow affair goes down in Cranston's Stage Door Lounge (next to the Park Theatre), hosting a freebie starring ERIC FRENCH and ERIC FONTANA (401.467.7275). The November chill has officially arrived, but apparently DEER TICK season ain't done just yet, as John MacCauley and the crew play three shows in two days at AS220, and at only $5 apiece. On Friday, CP & THE BURRITOS and the AMIL BYLECKIE BAND provide opening support.
And how about the lineup for SATURDAY (the 6th), with DT and a "surprise guest" at 5 pm and a 9 pm show with JOE FLETCHER & THE WRONG REASONS and THE DEVIL, MY POCKET — playing one of their last shows ever. Line up early for those tickets, they're not available in advance and you can only buy one; call 401.831.9327. (DT will headline at the Newport Blues Cafe for two nights next weekend.) Also on Saturday, six-string slinger MARK CUTLER plays a solo gig with guest Eric Andersen at Stone Soup Coffeehouse (401.921.5115); local powerhouse TONY JONES & THE CRETIN 3 lead "Boobstock" at Firehouse 13 (401.270.1801), with proceeds benefiting the Breast Cancer Society; and THE GNOMES bring their worldly folk-fusion to the Mediator (401.524.7276).
Start your work week off with lovely face-melters WHORE PAINT (featuring Rebecca from Made in Mexico and Arcing's Hilary Jones) with UT and NEPTUNE at AS220 on MONDAY (the 8th), and on WEDNESDAY (the 10th) hit the Met for 75orLess Records reps GIRL HAGGARD and SIX STAR GENERAL (their new stuff sounding mighty tight) with MARIA MONK and BLACK OIL INCINERATOR, all for only $8 at the door.
