Fuck you, 2010. You sucked. I’ll remember you for the baseball bat to the testicles after six years of jerking off without being allowed to cum that was the LOST finale. My band broke up when we couldn’t agree on a band name that wasn’t already trademarked by an Iheartcomix! band. My girlfriend moved to California upon realizing she’d never be emotionally or sexually fulfilled so long as we shared a time zone. And my hair started to fall out… Considering my most prominent musical memories of Oh Ten mostly revolve around the press lanyard I picked up at ATP New York, and the substantial rock rapture induced crapping of my pants that ensued, perhaps I should quit bitching. Also, I met Damian from Fucked Up that weekend. He seemed really nice. My top 10 is a list of songs I like. For reasons I’m not clear on, 3 Ring Brain & A Circus Heart wasn’t officially released, therefore technically doesn’t exist, which is part of why it’s rad. “A Cold Freezin’ Night” isn’t actually this year’s best Books song, but as it samples a little kid threatening to kill another little kid, it’s certainly their “hit.”

  • Beyond Dilla and Dipset
With a semi-sober face I'll claim that hip-hop in 2010 might deliver more than just posthumous Dilla discs, Dipset mixtapes, and a new ignoramus coke rapper whom critics pretend rhymes in triple-entendres.
  • Fall National Pop Preview: The golden age
Okay, so the album is dead, the music industry is dead, rock is dead, and the Library of Alexandria you have stored on your C drive has killed 150 years of recorded music culture.
  • The Big Hurt: Kanye leaks!
Brit copper busted, Kanye leaking, Bieber fuming, Tity Boi the tits
