Much is made of the supposedly fraught relationship between metal and noise, but Rose observes that, as an extreme music fan, she doesn't care about categories or genres intermingling. "Seems dramatic," she quips. And when I can't resist the requisite, constantly rehashed question on gender — namely, what it's like being a woman who neither erases her sexuality nor uses it as a selling point in a male-dominated music scene — Rose's answer is simple: "Either you dig the project, or you don't."
