YOU GUYS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SUPER-HEAVY AND PUNISHING, BUT AT THE SAME TIME YOUR MUSIC HAS ALWAYS BEEN SUPER CATCHY, SETTING YOU APART FROM A LOT OF METAL, ESPECIALLY A LOT OF THE SUBGENRES THAT SPROUTED UP IN PRIEST'S WAKE. Well, Daniel, I think that it has to do with our background: for example, [guitarist] Glenn [Tipton] has always been a massive Beatles fan, and so have I. And I think you're only going to get noticed, as a musical artist, if you've got a great melody, a great hook, in a song. We knew that, and though we didn't force it initially, we certainly realized it by the time we were making tracks like "Living After Midnight," "Breaking the Law," and "You've Got Another Thing Coming." Those were the songs that were really making a stronger connection with people. Not that we were a radio band or anything, we never were. But it was just that the way that we grew as musicians. The backbone of the music has a strong sense of melody. That said, we're also an extraordinary metal band: there is no one else that can go from "Painkiller" to "Some Heads Are Gonna Roll" to "The Ripper" or whatever. Basically what it boils down to is that there is no other band like Judas Priest.
