"I don't have any purist mentality about recording or my music, but I do revere that classic songwriting style," she says. "You get [to be] a success to me when you perform for a room of people who understand what you're saying and you're not heavy-handed. You have something that makes you worthy of being up there. Not any of this 'I don't give a fuck and I don't care about nothing and let's eat pizza' kind of young, immature attitude. I feel like I care more about what I'm doing."
