After building a strong rep throughout the year, dusty Americana sextet KINGSLEY FLOOD capped off a stellar 2k11 with a three-night stand at the Lizard Lounge in support of new EP Colder Still. Kevin Micka of Animal Hospital invited nearly 20 friends to his sound experiment ensemble at the Pozen Center at Mass Art on December 4, and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones released their ninth record, The Magic of Youth before taking to the House of Blues for their 14th annual year-end Hometown Throwdown. After battling illness for several weeks, Damone drummer Dustin Hengst passed away at the age of 39 on December 8.
