There's plenty to be had in their music. It's what makes the dark side smuggled in under the cover of pop so effective in the spate of bands working that dynamic as of late. "Like in a David Lynch or Todd Solondz movie, there are feelings that something else is going on [underneath], but it's not pretentious or over the top with its message. We always have that instinct — if something's going one way, we can push it back the other way. There's a genuine grasping for something new or exciting or controversial, but it doesn't disrespect the need for entertainment."
