THE ANCHORS ( South Dartmouth lads soak up '60s Britpop and surf rock on "Postcard," "I Can Wait," and leadoff single "Situations." The Anchors set up shop in 2008 and are the youngest of the semifinalists (the 15-year-old drummer was 12 when the band formed). Their debut disc due arrives next month.

SIC VITA ( The second band this weekend to rep Somerset, MA. "Dangerous by Design" is currently receiving spins (off their 2011 EP Steady), with plenty of breakneck shredding accompanying Armand Cabral's sharp vocal register. Look for "Brightest Stars" and title track "Steady "to capture the room on Saturday.

SCARLET ( "Seek" is the first single in rotation from the Portsmouth band's forthcoming LP, but keep an ear out for "Leviathan," "Hanging Hopes," and the breezy "Neon," all from their 2010 self-titled EP. Minus the Bear, Young the Giant, and MuteMath are defining influences.
