Perhaps counterintuitively, this juxtaposition represents the balanced evolution of Ten Stories. While Weiss's inspiration serves as lyrical catalyst, the record was a full-band effort. "Our producer [Daniel Smith] even said, 'You're like a table with four legs. And you need all four to be there each holding up its end equally.' This time, it was a lot more democratic or egalitarian in our contributions, and how we all came together. Everyone trusted each other with what we were going to bring to the table."
