A fixture on the local-music circuit for more than a decade, Sly-Chi continue to bring the funk to our favorite bars (as well as some that are farther afield), collaborate with other awesome artists (such as the Kenya Hall Band), and win BMP awards year after year. With songstress Andi Fawcett nailing it at the helm, as well as new original and cover songs added to their repertoire, 2013 was a big year for this band of seven that’s used to packing the dance floor. Catch them live at Brian Boru on Friday, December 28, and join in the celebration! | facebook.com/slychi

Runners-up: Mama’s Boomshack, Kenya Hall Band, Model Airplane
