On THURSDAY (the 20th), it’s last call for Von Donovan, Shifty Eye, and The Infra-men at the Parlour (401.383.5858), while New Jersey’s Lost in Society join locals This Is A Movement, Skinny Millionaires, and The Bitchin’ Aardvarks at Fête ($5, 401.383.1112). On FRIDAY (the 21st), Nick-a-Nee’s (401.861.7290) hosts a big one with The Silks (TJ Kelly & Co. are on fire behind their acclaimed debut album, Last American Band) with Ten-Foot Pole Cats and Cannibal Ramblers, while rock greats Northern Lands bid us farewell with one last show at the Ocean Mist (401.782.3740), with special guests Smith & Weeden and Dan Dodd. Also on Friday, Dusk delivers a hefty headbanger’s ball starring Morne, Churchburn, Blessed Offal, and Grue; and get back there on SATURDAY (the 22nd) for The Throttles with Volcano Kings, Us n Y’all, and the YaBeautifuls. There’s a nice variety around the Bucket on Saturday: must-hear PVD duo Pixels join Sparhawks, Titanics, Sun Bears, and New City Ghost at Machines With Magnets ($8, 401.473.2655); locals Herra Terra and Tapestries open for Bear Hands at the Met (401.729.1005); and singer-songwriter Mary Ann Rossoni performs at Stone Soup Coffeehouse behind her new CD, Edentown. On SUNDAY (the 23rd), Local 121’s Taproom continues its weekly music series with King Falcon (21+, 401.274.2121). And attention all local and/or aspiring musicians: head to Platforms (401.781.3121) nightclub downtown next THURSDAY (the 27th) for “The Midday Social,” where artists can network with area venue, print, and radio reps from around the region (including yours truly), and enjoy live sets from Mike O’Donnell (Skinny Millionaires), Malyssa BellaRosa, and more.
