Rising supertalent LETIA LAROK celebrates her CD release this Friday night at McGann’s near the TD Banknorth Garden; admission is $7, but for $10 you get admission and the disc. Larok’s delivery is smooth and emotional, urgent without being pushy: a little bit Kelis, a little bit Lauryn. Her newest jam, “Misunderstood,” with production from DR. RICHIE KIMBLE, is a string-laden hi-hat tapper that’s wonderfully simple. Larok has long been showing up and blowing away people at open-mic nights and as a guest at shows, but now she’s taking center stage, and the whole Bostown hip-hop crew is showing up to support her: expect AKROBATIK, M DIESEL, DRE ROBINSON and about five others to grab the mic. . . . You know how we love to represent Boston’s world-famous microsound community. This week the don of the scene, HOWARD STELZER, hosts a night of experimental sound Monday at the admirably accommodating P.A.’s Lounge. New Zealand’s PUMICE headlines, but local trio NMPERIGN & JASON LECALLEET might draw the most people. Their recent two-disc horns-and-tape-loops set on Stelzer’s Intransitive Recordings has just been released to international applause. They’re renowned, and they’re right in your backyard. You can try to find Love Me Two Times at your local big-box listening station, but something tells us you might have better luck Monday at P.A.’s.
