HISS & CHAMBERS will release Making Eyes, their debut EP, with a show at SPACE, June 15. The disc will feature six songs, with additional radio edits for “Halo” and “Glory #1.” The tunes can run on some, but it’s mostly because this band have a lot to say.

TARPIGH checked in recently to say they’ve got four new discs already in the can, the first of which, Captain Cullpepper’s Carabiners and the Twinkling Lights (a working title), ought to be out in the next couple of months.

There’s been talk of a benefit show to try to get the folks at CHICKY’S FINE DINER out from under their financial rock. “Many e-mails referred to a benefit of some sort,” Chicky himself wrote in a mass e-mail. “I won’t lie to y’all, that would be great. Blake and I will certainly have many expenses to deal with, but, more importantly, our wonderful staff needs help.” Those who know Chicky know that he’s the last person to stick his hand out, which is why so many are eager to help him this time around. We’ll provide details about any show as the come in.

BANGOR SAVINGS BANK are releasing their Maine Tracks disc, a compilation of past GREETINGS FROM AREA CODE 207 tracks they’ve been distributing to customers and new neighbors of Portland-area branches, for sale at Bull Moose for $5.97, will all proceeds going to the ST. LAWRENCE ARTS CENTER on Munjoy Hill. With a total of 12,500 discs now in print, it’s very possible Maine Tracks is the most heavily printed local disc ever.
