Even more than dancers, Bruno has inspired a legion of DJs. JESSE ALLEN, KRIS KONO,and Soulclap’s DJ ELYTE are just a few of the many who have come to pay their respects to Bruno, who keeps his house groove on point all night while overlooking the dance floor. “The thing with Bruno is his dedication has paid off and people want to be loyal to him,” says sound engineer and DJ HOUSEHEAD PETE. “It’s infectious. He’s a Leo!” Pete says standing next to KC HALLETT. “It’s a community we’ve been with for years,” Pete continues. “There’s people that listen to music and people that feel music. These are the people that feel music.”
“The good thing too is he’s giving people the chance to spin,” says DJ PAUL FOLEY, chiming in. “I mean, he let me spin here for chrissake.” On the now crowded dance floor, a vibe is starting to take hold. People clap, shout, and jack their bodies to Bruno’s continual bass bump. “This is the perfect environment right now,” whispers Marable. The vocals echo the sentiment, too — “I’m gonna hold on / I’m gonna be strong.” The crowd dances though the night — Utopia never ends.
