And though Facebook may be surpassing MySpace in popularity as far as social networking is concerned, MySpace remains the king when it comes to promoting bands, DJs, and musicians. (The News Corp.–owned behemoth even has its own record label.) Winter sees the site’s backing as key to Ed Banger’s fortunes in the US in 2008. “Since we don’t have the radio in the US, we know we needed some big media support for a tour for 20 shows.” Then, after some thought, he utters a phrase that wouldn’t be out of place in an Ed Banger mix: “It just gets better and better.”
