No Age’s idea of a bigger venue is LA’s Ukrainian Cultural Center, a nondescript Hollywood hall that holds more than 800 persons. They recently rented it out for a show with Yeasayer.
“Black Flag and Bikini Kill played there in the ’80s,” says Spunt. And during their upcoming tour for Nouns, No Age will still play mostly all-ages venues. They wouldn’t want anyone to have to stay home. “If we play a bar, we’ll also try to play a record store. I mean, our band’s called ‘No Age’ — it makes sense.”
