Not to be outdone, former Overtone Spencer Albee says his School Spirit Mafia (basically As Fast As, sans Andrew Hodgin and Hache, and plus any number of local guests) has been recording an album for spring release as well.

And what's the next great band you have to see? Alias Grace's Richard Fortin, Glen Capen, Jason Elvin, and Aaron Lachance have been joined by the late-Cosades frontman Kyle Gervais to form Grand Hotel. It's gonna be big.

    If Slainte did nothing more than allow Nick Poulin the time and space to get Tall Horse together, its legacy may be pretty well secure. Who knows what will eventually come of the band, but Glue, as a six-song introduction to the world, is a damn fine work filled with highly listenable, ’90s-style indie rock.
