Daddy Taurus opens Taurus Records in Mattapan. Nearly 30 years later it is the last remaining reggae store in Boston.

Bob Marley brings his Uprising tour to the Hynes Auditorium. It would be his last in Boston, and his fifth to last ever.

Steel Pulse - on its first American tour - plays the Bradford Hotel Ballroom.
