The Mountain Goats are not alone; King has been a busy collaborator in recent years, playing with Marco Benevento, Tegan and Sara, even Foo Fighters. For the time being, however, King is going back to feeling alone and awake. “Right at this moment,” she says, “I need to focus on what I’m doing, which is making a new album. I’m in the writing stage.”
