First off, a confession: I arrived too late to see Juliette Lewis. When BoA says the show starts at 7 pm, they mean it starts at 7 pm. Moreover, her set seems to have been a mere 30 minutes long. Which was a disappointment: I was hoping to see her channel Iggy Pop -- whose nipple she has expressed the desire to lick -- or maybe bust out a couple PJ Harvey covers. Alas, it was not in the cards. (Our friends at the Sandbox did conduct an enlightening interviewwith her yesterday, however, which you can listen to here.

By the time Cat Power emerged, it was clear immediately that the days of "outrageously passive-aggressive behavior and nonmusicianship" are over. She prowled about with feline fleet-footedness, and her band was in fine fettle behind her.
