Linc's greenskeeping

But as we all know Nielsen finally caught his stride with the Airplane, Police Squad!, and Naked Gun films — always playing the clueless hero.

Jorge did a radio interview with Nielsen nearly 25 years ago in the Bahamas and remembers that he could not be separated from the little device he held firmly in his hand. It made a very convincing human flatulence noise and was used liberally in nearly every interview he did in those years.

He also told Jorge about a visit he made to an old Rhody pal in Exeter or West Greenwich in the late '70s. When he arrived, his friend (who owned a local tavern) had a big sign outside of his joint that said "Tonight Only: Leslie Nielsen Live!" Nielsen, who did not have a live act, ended up on stage, spinning stories all night. I wasn't there, but I'll bet it was great fun. Just don't call him Shirley.
