Diva down!

But P+J do not believe that the regrettably low level of "discourse" triggered the shootings. Our inability to come up with a reasonable strategy to provide help for people who are violently/dangerously mentally ill is one factor. The other is our moronic gun laws — not least the "everybody can carry a concealed weapon" lunacy that is the law of the land in Arizona.

On the other hand, that a Sarah Palin minion who claimed with a straight face that the infamous crosshairs on her web site, targeting Congressional candidates, was really a "land surveying symbol" is truly pathetic. "Lock and load," "don't retreat, reload," and all the other cutesy gun rhetoric is what it is and it oughta be dialed back, period.

Though he spent a stint as executive director of the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation under Governor Lincoln "Missing Linc" Almond, Marcel Valois — the newly named head ramrod of the beleaguered EDC — is hardly a household name in The Biggest Little. (Unless, of course, you live in a household with a lot of people named Marcel or Valois.)
