Word of warning: you, a Homo sapiens, stand no chance in a fistfight against police-trained langurs. They will whoop your ass without breaking a monkey sweat. That was the idea behind New Delhi's deployment of 28 langurs in order to chase off smaller simians. To us dwellers of temperate zones, this may seem funny. However, meddlesome monkeys are a common nuisance in India. Deciding to fight monkeys with monkeys, the security team brought in the big guns: langurs are large, long-tailed, and nasty. The males stand at 30 inches and can leap 15 feet horizontally. Smaller monkeys and stupid onlookers beware: these things will eff you up.
