Speaking of presidential candidates from the Bay State, I'm sorry to announce that our guest of honor this year has stood us up. We thought MITT ROMNEY would want to come celebrate the 10th anniversary of his only election victory, but we've been informed that he only returns to Massachusetts to cast votes, attend high-dollar fundraisers, and shred old State House files, disks, and hard drives.
Who would have imagined, 10 years ago, that he would be running for president today? You can all put your hands down, that was a rhetorical question.
He's changed a little since he won that election. Back then, he was an illegal-immigrant employing, pro-choice, gay-rights-defending, debt-hating jobs builder vowing to never raise taxes or fees.
I thought Romney would enjoy visiting with his old Beacon Hill colleagues — like attending a high-school reunion: wincing at the reminders of the person he used to be, and trying to remember other people's names.
Pretty much like the last two years he was governor, actually.
