With new funders (including the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation, the United Way, the Ronald McDonald House Charities, and the Maine Community Foundation), a good track record (100 percent of last year's senior YWL students graduated and went on to college), and new programming in the works (such as a potential summer intensive), it's likely that the Telling Room will continue helping to make such dreams come true.
At the very least, there are 15 young people who feel very much like film stars walking around Portland this week. Fifteen people for whom, as Iraqi immigrant Amira Alsammrai put it, the whole world is waiting.
