The GOP's short-lived attempt, at the beginning of the year, to allow federal funding of abortions only in the case of "forcible" rape was just the start of a breathtakingly inept approach to women's issues.
And when it comes to those issues, Cicilline — who is having trouble convincing voters of his sincerity these days — can claim a legitimate pedigree. There is a reason Cecile Richards said what she said at The Dorrance.
Cicilline has to hope that enough voters, worried about holding onto their jobs and paying the bills, are listening.
