Lewiston’s aging relic

By SHAY STEWART-BOULEY  |  October 10, 2012

As the younger generations become more racially mixed, though, I see a future of far more tolerance and acceptance of cultural difference. Probably the best we can do is to treat Macdonald like the relic he is. Quietly view him like an ugly vase on display from some dead civilization and move on to the next exhibit. There has been too much hard work done over the past decade to let one man ruin it. Particularly a man whose victory at the polls was only secured because his competitor died less than a week before the vote — and who still only received 70 more votes than the dead guy.
