World-class listening problem
Al Diamon calls Bill Slavick’s position on abortion “wishy-washy.” (See “World-class Listening Problem,” June 2.) On the contrary, I would call it nuanced.
The first time I heard Bill’s response to a woman questioning him on this issue, I felt he had articulated my own views. As one who cannot subscribe to polarized postures on either extreme, I felt gratitude he had given voice to a saner common ground without compromising personal convictions. Abortion is a complex issue. It needs a nuanced response.
