But as one New Hampshire legislator pointed out when his state passed its legislation last month: “If New York and California refuse to comply, Real ID will collapse of its own weight.” (California passed a measure last year that would bring the state into Real ID compliance, but New York has an active anti-Real ID faction and the state assembly has yet to weigh in on the issue.)
