Dollar Bill-ed

The superior world
It’s not exactly a secret that the Other Paper is putting together a series of articles on the state of LGBT culture/politics/society here in the Biggest Little.

While there is ample reason to suspect that the whole project might emerge as a laughable train wreck, there is also the distinct possibility, since reporting ace Mark Arsenault is involved, it could be thoughtful and informative.

P&J hope that the Other Paper really steps up to the plate on this one.

In other news from the superior side of town, P&J are saddened to note the passing of Dr. Alvan Fisher, a pioneering physician in the treatment of HIV/AIDS, as well as an advocate and activist instrumental in the creation of AIDS Project Rhode Island. He was a true Rhode Island hero.

Send playoff tickets and Pulitzer-grade tips to p&j@phx.com.

Though he spent a stint as executive director of the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation under Governor Lincoln "Missing Linc" Almond, Marcel Valois — the newly named head ramrod of the beleaguered EDC — is hardly a household name in The Biggest Little. (Unless, of course, you live in a household with a lot of people named Marcel or Valois.)
