Rebirth of the Best
By JEFF INGLIS  |  March 1, 2006

The annual Best issue in the PortlandPhoenix is changing, as a result of reader feedback. We used to do it in November of each year, but we are now going to conduct voting for Portland’s Best in March, with results published in early April.

Also changing this year will be the attention afforded to readers’ votes. While in the past, readers’ picks were relegated to a sidebar while editors’ picks were the featured stories, now your choices will be highlighted in print, using comments from readers’ ballots. (We’ll still have some editors’ picks, to keep you up-to-date on new happenings around town.)

And further, not only do you have a chance to vote for the Best bar, Asian restaurant, apparel store, or local bookstore, but you can tell us why they’re the Best, and we’ll pass your thoughts along to the world!

Please cast your ballots shortly — the deadline is March 24. You can use the ballot in this issue of the Phoenix, or vote online at www.thephoenix.com/TheBest
