Though Portland ABC affiliate WMTW declined to air it, Lewiston native Jake Sasseville has found a home for his nationally syndicated talk show The Edge with Jake Sasseville on WPME, the MyNetworkTV affiliate here in town, and at a better time than it will air in more than 35 markets around the country.
After learning about Sasseville’s program (see “WMTW Won’t Air Mainer’s National Talk Show,” by Jill Harrigan, January 18) and hearing Q97.9 DJ Lori Voornas talk about the show, which will air nationally on ABC at 1 am, just after Jimmy Kimmel Live!, WPME general manager Doug Fink contacted Sasseville’s New York office to ask about picking up the show on his station, which which broadcasts on Channel 35 and is on TimeWarner Cable at Channel 17.
Beyond giving Sasseville the Thursday at 11 pm time slot — up against several local news broadcasts, among other competition — Fink offered to show Sasseville’s premier episode at 8:30 pm on Thursday, February 14. “Mainers will be the first in the country each week to view The Edge,” observes Sasseville.
