No, things are not all peaches and cream for blacks or other minorities. Obama's ascent to the White House is a clear sign we're moving toward a post-racial America. But to think this election means that parity has been achieved among all races (or will be soon) is not only wrong but frightening. When the media and others tell us we are living in post-racial America, it only distracts us from doing the work that still needs to be done everywhere, both outside and inside the non-white communities, to truly get us there.
